LEVEL 13:  ALEXANDRIA

Blue text added starting 9/16/06.

The corner bug works on the free-standing column, at the right face of the northeast corner. From atop the structure, Lara can’t jump over the fence to the train. Drop from the lower arm of the structure for only 1% damage. The crawl-corner bug works on both sides of all four corners, but on the east face Lara rises no higher than the base of the masonry that angles outward, and she falls.

The column against the wall has only crawl bugs at both corners. The corner at the start of the large passage has no bugs, nor does the column in the passage.

COURTYARD WITH THE FOUNTAIN: Looking back at the entrance portal: for both columns, the corner bug works at both sides of the right-hand corner, but not the left. At the left-hand column, the left face requires Roll after the bug works; the right face lets Lara bug through the ceiling. At the right-hand column, both faces allow the normal corner bug; the step down makes the left face easy. From atop the portal, Lara can catch the roof of the library, but the dormer window prevents her from traversing to the black switch. She can't jump to the building to the north, there's no game space above it. Dropping from the middle of the portal causes no damage. All the corners allow the crawl-corner bug, except the one on the right by the step.

The corner of the building on the north side of the courtyard allows the crawl bug on its left face, but Lara slides fatally off the roof.

In “Todd’s” place (where the first baddie hides), the crawl bug works at corners of tall boxes. If it’s too close to the ceiling, Lara is trapped. The only wall corner that uses the crawl-corner bug is on the free-standing column where it touches the low box; Lara is trapped inside the column from both faces. The left edge of the doorway uses the crawl bug to send Lara to the ledge above, only from the outside face.

The corner bug doesn't work at the corner where she will jump to the library, but the crawl bug works from both faces.

To skip the two guys who are on the ledge used to jump to the library (and forego a set of Uzi clips), go down the left side of the library. There's a square column where the walkway turns left. From either side of the left-hand corner, use the corner bug to get on top (the right-hand corner doesn't work). Go to the closest corner to the library and face back along the walkway. Turn a few degrees left, then hop back. Take a running jump, holding Action.

Lara will hang from the edge; traverse right, then around the corner to the black switch. It looks like the jump from the column should be easy, but Lara bumps her head on the sky, so the precise lineup is necessary.

The column to the left of the one you just used works the same vis-a-vis the corner bug. Lara can jump from there to the lower ledge to the east, but it's a dead end. She can also jump to the first column. From there, she can also jump to the lower ledge to the west, but there's nothing to do there.

For even easier access to the switch, use the corner bug on either side of the corner to the left of the library door. Hold Action while jumping so Lara catches the edge of the roof after the bug works. If she misses the catch, start a bit farther from the corner.

From any corner of the two square columns at the end of the walkway, the crawl-corner bug works on any face. The crawl bug also works on the left face of the nearby corner of the library, but Lara slides off.

If you visit Jean-Yves, don't go out on the balcony; this triggers the appearance of the first baddie on the ledge. The second appears when you jump to the ledge.

LEVEL 14: COASTAL RUINS

STREET WITH PALM TREES: At the entrance to the small courtyard, the corner bug works on both faces of the corner one square to the right of the arched doorway. Lara can’t make the jump to other roofs to the north or south because she hits the sky and falls too quickly. The crawl bug works at this corner and the other corner of the building wing.

At the doorway itself, the arch bug works from none of the three possible corners. Same for the entrance to the Egyptian Adventure. Same for corner next to the display mummy, and the corner across the opening. The crawl bug works at the left edge of the outside of the doorway; Lara arrives on a rectangle which goes nowhere. It also works at the right face of the structure with the sloping roof facing the Egyptian Adventure entrance, but she just slips off the roof.

The corner by the palm tree permits the crawl bug to trap Lara in the wall.

A high block separates the two arches at the end of the street, Neither corner supports bugs. On the far side of the arches, a thick divider allows Lara to pull up on top of it. Both ends have walls where Lara might jump and catch, but the Top of Space  doesn’t allow it.

EGYPTIAN ADVENTURE: The alcove by the display mummy allows the crawl bug on both faces of the right corner, but Lara falls at once.

MECHANICAL SNAKE CHARMER: You can skip the SHOOTING GALLERY (below) by using a crawl-corner bug here to ascend to the upper chamber. Then you don’t need the TOKEN. By the way, the face of the snake charmer looks like a photo of an actual person.

ROOM WITH A SMALL PYRAMID: If Lara uses the crawl bug to enter either face of the right corner at the bottom of the stairs, she’s trapped, and the mechanical mummy activates!

SHOOTING GALLERY: Lara can shoot the targets and drop to the floor BEFORE the platform drops, the spikes don’t appear.

THE RUINS/HILLSIDE NEAR TIDEPOOLS: A crawl bug works at a sharp spike of land nearly opposite where Lara drops from the first building, but she slides back to the ground.

Instead of walking along the building to the ramp, get onto the block south of the building. Use the corner bug to get atop the column next to the rest of the building. From here, Lara can explore a varied area of rooftops. Take a running jump to the high blocks to the northeast. From here she can safety drop to the arrows with no damage.

The crawl bug puts Lara on the roof from the corner near the exit gate from the Catacombs. The other two corners on this level at the top of the ramp also allow the crawl bug to  put Lara on the roof each from both faces.

At the bottom of the ramp, the left corner of the tower behind the block lets the crawl bug raise Lara to the top of the tower, from both the top of the block and the ground by the left face.

Corner bug back up for some target practice on the skeleton's head, then drop into the small pool.

DANGLING BOULDER/ENTRANCE TO THE CATACOMBS: None of the four corners at the building’s entrance have any bugs. Looking back at the entrance, a crawl bug at the right corner takes Lara straight to the ledge with the wideshot shells and small med-pack. The corner to the right also supports a crawl bug on either face to lift her to the platform just before the jump to the area with the gate to the Catacombs. This looks like the fastest way there.

There’s no space above the building, so none of the corners in the outdoor area of the building work.

COASTAL RUINS - DANGLING BOULDER: None of the corners down in the pit show any bugs. The corner of the ladder by the hinge enables crawl bugs on both faces. The right face of the other corner of the ladder’s alcove also allows a crawl bug.

CATACOMBS - ROOM BELOW UNSTABLE FLOOR: The corners here don’t allow the bug. The two corners at the entrance to the room allow the crawl bug to trap Lara from either face.

I took the burning torch into the room with the grate that opens with the crowbar. I left it there, but it was gone when I returned. It burned up? This also happens if you take it to the room under the unstable floor, leave it there, and return. It’s probably because Lara moves between two levels.

LEVEL 15: CATACOMBS

ROOM WITH BROKEN PILLARS AND SUNBEAMS: None of the three doors in this room have any bugs at their corners.

ROOM WITH POLE/ROOM WITH JARS AND GOLDEN BIRD STATUE: No corners have bugs except the three adjacent to the pit with the climbing pole. And what a strange bug it is: Lara becomes stuck inside the corner; in a few seconds, or after turning or using Look, the carved door opens! Jumping with use of a direction key gets Lara out of the wall; side jumps may work better. Turn till a direction works. Try to miss the pit. Don’t substitute a crawl-corner bug, which traps Lara in the wall.

In the picture at left, the camera position is inside the wall.

If you use one of the two corners next to the carved door, an extra event occurs: a skeleton materializes out of the floor across the pit from the door. It begins hunting as if it knows Lara is there somewhere, but it can’t find her because she’s inside the wall. It’s almost comical! Even if it walks right up to her and bumps a visible body part of our heroine, she yelps but suffers no damage. But she can still draw a weapon and shoot the skeleton. Once when Lara was in the corner to the left of the door, the skeleton obligingly leaped into the pit while approaching her. On the other hand, it once accidentally knocked Lara out of the wall into the pit.

If you used the third corner, the skeleton appears after Lara goes a short way past the door. But you miss the fun of watching it play find-the-tomb-raider.

Now you can follow a reverse path past the door, picking up two tridents on the way. A skeleton appears shortly after you pick up each trident. Get the first trident in the SMALL ROOM WITH POLE AND PEDESTAL, then climb down the ladder to the VERY TALL ROOM WITH DANGLING ROPE AND PEDESTAL – except that there’s no dangling rope! In the VERY TALL ROOM, you can skip at least one skeleton if you avoid areas with empty pots.

Since there’s no rope, a running jump is required to get Lara to the platform at the room’s “entrance”. Don’t use Action; even though her jump is plenty long, Lara just slides past the edge to her doom. The rope helpfully appears AFTER you make the jump.

The corner to the left of the two round-topped windows (opposite the entrance) supports a crawl-corner bug from both faces, which traps Lara in the wall.

But don’t bother continuing to the FLOODED ROOM WITH LEDGES AND COLUMNS, unless you want one set of wideshot shells and a few more kills. Also skip the ladder down from the ledge in the northeast corner unless you want a set each of normal arrows, shotgun shells and wideshot shells; I didn’t check the area at the bottom of the ladder for crawl-corner bugs. Instead, return up to the room where you opened the carved door via bug, and proceed down the pole as normal. Then when you reach the room in the next paragraph, follow the “stairs up to the right” (which Stella refers to) only far enough to get the shotgun shells, then return.

HUGE ROOM WITH HIGH PLATFORM, ROPES AND SMALL POOL: The northeast corner of of the central column (under the platform with the switch) supports the arch bug from the right side. I was able to press Roll as Lara began to fall back and allow her to land on the platform. From the left side the simple corner bug works (through the platform). None of the other three corners of the column exhibit bugs. If you jump ahead from the second rope, the crawl bug traps Lara in wall at the right face of the right corner (I didn’t test the other faces on that ledge).

All four corners of the central column support the crawl-corner bug, on both faces. This lets you go back for secret #1 if you swung to the wrong platform.

No other northeast-pointing corners in the room show bugs.

VERY TALL ROOM WITH DANGLING ROPE AND PEDESTAL: There's an odd little bug at the ladder in the northeast corner. If Lara hangs to the right of the ladder, then traverses onto it, she suddenly appears hanging from the left side of the ladder.

On the ground floor, the corner bug works only at the two-square column against the south wall (which is next to the entrance from the stairs), and both sides of the northeast corner of the column that had the trident on it. I tried the arch bug in a couple of places but it didn't work.

HUGE ROOM WITH LEDGES AND CIRCULAR SKYLIGHTS - LOWER LEVEL: At the entrance from the stairs, the arch bug works only partly, and Lara falls at once. However, quickly pressing Roll will allow her to stay on the middle level. The crawl-corner bug works only on the outside face, taking Lara to the middle level.

The square column and the alcove at the other end of the hall exhibit no bugs. The crawl-corner bug works on both faces of both corners of the square column, lifting Lara to the upper level.

At the doorway in the east wall, none of the four corners show any bugs. The crawl-corner bug works on the outside face of all four corners, raising Lara to the middle level. Beyond this doorway, there are no bugs at the doorway to the descending stairs; same for crawl bugs. At the bottom of those stairs, both sides of the doorway allow an arch bug to the middle level; be ready to press Roll after the bug works. But there are no crawl bugs. Opposite the stairs, the four corners of the structure around the doorway to the vertical shaft don’t exhibit any bugs; same for crawl bugs.

Back at the starting hall, the doorway in the west wall has no bugs at any of the four corners. The crawl-corner bug works on the outside face of all four corners, lifting Lara to the middle level.

In the West Room, the right face of the northeast corner allows Lara to bug through the platform to the UPPER level. The other three corners don’t allow bugs. Only the left face of the southeast corner allows the crawl bug, which takes Lara to the upper level. Each face of the northwest and southwest corners allows the crawl bug to raise Lara to the middle level.

The columns on the north and south sides show no bugs, and no crawl-corner bugs. The doorway on the west side has no bugs, but the crawl-corner bug works on the outside face of both corners, raising Lara to the middle level. Incidentally, the skeleton at the bottom of the shaft doesn’t animate unless you shoot the (empty) jars just inside the doorway.

HUGE ROOM WITH LEDGES AND CIRCULAR SKYLIGHTS - MIDDLE LEVEL: The column near the northwest corner has an arch and a corner bug possibilities. Lara falls back from the arch try unless you press Roll in time; the corner bug works normally. In this room, corners surrounded by three squares of the same level of floor allow crawl-corner bugs to lift Lara to a higher level.

On the middle level of the large building at the west end of the room, the two western corners trap Lara in the wall by use of the crawl bug, on all faces.

Column at southeast corner of entry structure: the two corners next to a drop-off work (one through the platform); the third corner doesn’t. A crawl bug works on both faces of the third corner.

Column at northeast corner of entry structure: the two corners next to a drop-off work (one through the platform, be ready with Roll for the other); the third corner doesn’t. A crawl bug works on both faces of the third corner.

Column near the southwest corner of entry structure: the bug works at both available corners. Be ready to press Roll at the right corner. No crawl bugs work.

Column on first ledge beyond entry structure: bugs work on both corners by the drop-off. At the north corner in the middle of the ledge, both faces work; the left face lets Lara bug through the platform, while the right face requires Roll after the bug works. The south corner in the middle of the platform doesn’t work. A skeleton appears nearby when Lara first arrives on the upper platform. Crawl bugs work at both eastern corners.

Column near north end of first ledge beyond entry structure: no bugs at either corner. Crawl bugs work at both southern corners.

Column near south end of first ledge beyond entry structure: the corner bug works at both corners by the drop-off, but neither of the other two corners. Crawl bugs work at both southern corners.

Column near southwest corner of the room: corner bug works, both sides of the eastern corner. The western corner is bugless. Crawl bugs work at both northern corners.

Columns at each end of second ledge beyond entry structure: arch bug requires Roll. At the south column, a skeleton appears. No crawl bugs work.

Column by middle of second ledge beyond entry structure: both corners work. A skeleton appears. No crawl bugs work.

Columns on third ledge beyond entry structure: both corners by the drop-off allow the bug. The other north corner works on both faces, although the left face requires Roll. The other south corner doesn’t work. No crawl bugs work.

After getting the trident from the high alcove, you can skip one skeleton and the rope swing by descending to the middle level, then using the corner bug at the column near the northwest corner of the room. Be ready for the skeleton approaching from the southwest.

The alcove corners at the bottom of the climbing pole don’t have crawl bugs. At the top of the ladder on the way to the PEDESTAL ROOM with trident #4, the three corners touching the pit trap Lara in the wall on both faces when you use the crawl bug. The fourth corner doesn’t allow the crawl bug.

There are no crawl bugs at the five corners near the trident.

I used the pistols to shoot the two piles of bones at the level at the top of the steps, by being one and two steps down and crouching.

I forgot to drop into the hole for secret #2 and open the door below. When I went back the hole was closed again!

The alcove for secret #3 doesn’t allow crawl-corner bugs.

Neither corner near the ELEVATOR shows crawl bugs. None of the six corners near secret #4 have crawl bugs.

Since Lara must pass through the HUGE ROOM WITH LEDGES twice, I would guess that all these corner bugs could allow large shortcuts, plus skipping some of the skeletons while bypassing only a few ammo pickups, but I haven’t worked it out. The important pickups are the TRIDENT and SECRET #3 at the UPPER LEVEL and SECRET #4 from the ELEVATOR at the LOWER LEVEL. Strategy for speed run from Ewil, crawl bug from me: enter lower level from the stairs, turn left and go to column with semicircular designs, use a crawl bug to ascend to upper level, head east to the third trident.

LEVEL 16: TEMPLE OF POSEIDON

The corner by the golden bird traps Lara in the wall on both faces, using the crawl bug. But Lara can escape by looking and turning, which takes her back down the stairs a little to the Catacombs level.

There are no crawl bugs near the central well.

There are no crawl bugs in the north rooms.

There are no crawl bugs in the south rooms.

Only the columns with nudes in the east rooms allow the crawl bug.

Only the snake columns in the west rooms allow the crawl bug.

In the room where Lara surfaces from the swim from the deep pit, the left corner of the alcove traps her after a crawl bug on the outside face.

TO RETURN TO THE COASTAL RUINS LEVEL: Looking at the ramp from the hole in the roof, the left face of the left corner traps Lara in the wall with a crawl-corner bug.

From the steps marked “C” in Stella’s COASTAL RUINS diagram, jump west to the half-underwater square where the building meets the water’s edge. Use the corner bug at the southeast corner of that square to get onto the roof.

After jumping south to catch another area of the roof, I couldn’t jump to any nearby rocks.

The northwest corner of the building has an angle-topped block next to it. From atop this block, the corner to the right against the wall to the south permits a crawl bug which lifts Lara to the roof.

LEVEL 17: THE LOST LIBRARY

Performing a crawl bug at the corner of the crawlspace triggers the beginning of level display for the LOST LIBRARY, but Lara is put back at the other end of the short passage between the two crawlspaces, confusing you about which way you’re pointed. Check the compass.

ROOM WITH MECHANICAL MEN AND FIRE CIRCLE SCROLL: From the Main Hall, door A (Stella’s diagram) to the Fire Circle Scroll is superfluous and skips fighting two mechanical men.

ROOM WITH POLE AND BLADES: Ewil discovered a trigger bug near the first pole that disables the circular blades on the way down.

The right face of the corner between the two climbing poles allows the crawl bug to lift Lara to the room before the HUGE GEARS. Only saves a second or two and you can pull up past the gear-like blade, anyway.

ROOM WITH HUGE GEARS: The two corners by the first two gears allow the crawl bug to trap Lara in the wall, from both faces.

The three northeast corners on the tall structure allow bugs on both faces; the arch bugs require Roll, while the corner bugs on the other two faces send Lara through the structure. Behind the structure, the left edge of the right-hand doorway bugs Lara into the passage to the climbing pole. On the three columns of the structure, corners with the same level on both faces allow the crawl bug to lift Lara to the top of the structure, from both faces of each corner. Other corners don’t.

Behind the tall structure, the face between the two passages allows the crawl bug to raise Lara into the beginning of the passage to the climbing pole.

No northeast corners in the  swinging chain area have bugs. There are no crawl bugs in the area.

I encountered two cases of frozen chains (at the extreme of the swing) after returning from the underwater area.

ROOM WITH BRASS ARCHES AND PIPES: I only checked corners with the floor level the same on both faces.

The Tomb Raiders Traveler’s Guide suggests lobbing a grenade into the mechanical horseman’s starting area, then he is too shaken up to mount his horse. Then fight him as a normal mechanical man.

No northeast corners on the horseman level exhibit bugs.

The corner of the secret #2 alcove by the pulleys traps Lara in the wall with a crawl bug.

After the placement of the horseman’s blue gem exposes the grate over water, the northeast corner next to the grate allows Lara to enter the wall (and be stuck two feet in the air). Turning her causes the camera position to move inside the wall, for various unusual views. Jumping removes Lara from the wall, but the camera position remains inside! Strange, but no utility.

No other northeast corners on this level allow bugs.

PLANETARIUM: I crashed after all globes were placed and I moved Lara. Save just before there.

There are no crawl bugs on the way to or in the main room.

FIRE CIRCLE ROOM: There are no crawl-corner bugs in this room, except at the two high corners of the central blocks.

LIBRARY: The corner on the right as you enter lets the crawl bug raise Lara to the balcony from both faces.

ROOM WITH LIONS' HEADS: The second boulder wasn't triggered until after the mechanical man was destroyed.

From ground level, the four northeast-pointing corners below the ledges on the west and south walls show corner or arch bugs on both faces. The arch bug spots may work with a run forwards, but may still require you to press Roll to prevent a fall. It’s easier just to use the other face and bug through the ledge. Of course, bugging up to the south ledge makes catching the switch to raise the blocks superfluous. All the corners allow the crawl bug to put Lara on a higher surface, including the two high corners of the column raised by the lever.

The three holes in the south wall off the ground don’t allow bugs at the northeast-pointing corners, and don’t allow any crawl bugs.

ROOM WITH PHAROS PILLAR/FIRE ELEMENTALS:

The corner opposite the ladder and the corner one square north permit the crawl bug to raise Lara back to the ROOM WITH PHAROS PILLAR/FIRE ELEMENTALS. The second corner is not even next to the trapdoor, so it should work with the trap closed.

ROOM WITH WOODEN PLANK FLOOR: In the room below, with the MUSIC SCROLL, the corner in the middle of the north side allows the crawl bug to put Lara back up in the ROOM WITH WOODEN PLANK FLOOR, from either face.

LEVEL 18: HALL OF DEMETRIUS

LARGE ROOM WITH BALCONIES AND PAINTINGS: The north side of the room has several corners which cause a premature end of the level via the crawl bug, after Lara is trapped in the wall, but looking, rolling, and turning release her. The corners two squares apart at the alcove for the stairs, and the corner on the stairs which points northeast do this. The easiest is the right face of the corner where the passage narrows to one square wide; do a crawl bug then jump a couple of times. The first time, on the left face of the left corner of the large alcove, Lara had dropped right into the pool in Coastal Ruins; but all other times since then, we see Lara examining the scroll, but the black and red assassins are right there shooting her! Then we see the usual cut scene with Lara and Von Croy snarling at each other. But when we get control back for the big assassin battle, Lara’s health bar is black, and she dies at once. Later I learned to punch the hot key for med-packs while the assassins are blasting her; when apparently they run out of ammo, they start some vigorous sword-jabbing. But soon they are in a little knot a few feet from Lara, and they keep stabbing air during the whole discussion! I suppose they know she’s not dead. A little experimenting shows that this is normal game play – so we’re seeing a cut scene with game play on top!

COASTAL RUINS: After picking up the BROKEN GLASSES on the platform, go to the north edge. The corner to the left allows (from either face) Lara to bug through the ceiling to the passage leading away from the top of the ladder. After Lara climbs from the pool, a crawl bug from either face of the near left (northwest) corner of the square structure lifts her to one square farther along the passage. The inner northwest corner does the same, but one square closer to the ladder.

The five corners on the ground put Lara on the roof from either face, using the crawl-corner bug. The corner of the other building, by the palm tree, allows the crawl bug from either face.

There are three northeast-pointing corners on the exterior of the building that allow Lara to bug to the roof.

The first is at the corner of the highest platform as Lara exits the building, to the right. Only the left face works.

The other two are at ground level, on the front of the building.

On the roof, go to the northwest corner. Run north. There’s an invisible platform about five squares long! There are some bits of one-sided rock bounding it on the east.

If you turn to the west, at a certain angle you will see a ball of roaring fire in the blackness; some feature of the building Lara just left, no doubt.

After enjoying the view, safety drop from the north edge to the platform, which causes no damage.

Use the corner bug on the outside face of the right corner of the nearby doorway. Lara will appear to be in two places at once! Not really; if you take screenshots, they will show her to be in one place or the other. This is one of the few places where a flicker-at-top type corner bug appears in the game. Press Action to drop Lara; she’s still in the wall, Jump bugs her right back up. Turning 45 degrees either way or Roll also free her from the wall; jumping in any direction does not.

LEVEL 19: PHAROS, TEMPLE OF ISIS

ROOM WITH THREE STAIRCASES AND SMALL POOL: No corners permit the crawl bug.

WEST STAIRS/ROOM WITH BLUE AND SILVER PYRAMID: The anteroom has no crawl bugs.

The PYRAMID ROOM shows no crawl bugs. I only checked the corners with the same level of floor all the way around it.

MIDDLE (WEST) CHUTE: Four arch bug possibilities don't work.

SOUTH STAIRS/ROOM WITH CLEOPATRA STATUE: The corner down in the winding key room doesn’t permit the crawl-corner bug.

The outer corners of the columns flanking Cleo permit the crawl bug to trap Lara in the column, from both faces of each corner.

LEFT (SOUTH) CHUTE: Corner bug works on columns, side to entrance, and on the diagonally opposite corners.

LEVEL 20: CLEOPATRA'S PALACES

At the first corner of the level, in the corridor, the right face sends Lara back to the previous level when a crawl bug is used.

ROOM WITH FOUNTAIN AND GREENERY: The left door in the north side of the room permits a crawl-corner bug at its left corner, on the left face. In the HALLWAY ABOVE RAMP, the skeleton isn’t triggered unless Lara steps to the edge of the balcony.

From the ground floor below, the corner to the left of the high end of the ramp allows a crawl bug on both faces, which also lifts Lara to HALLWAY.

NETWORK OF HALLWAYS TO THE NORTHEAST: All the northeast corners don’t allow bugs.

ROOM WITH HUGE, SQUARE COLUMNS: No northeast corners allow bugs, including in the two alcoves on the south wall and on the columns.

ROOM WITH L-SHAPED PIT AND BARRED WINDOWS: Lara can corner-bug up to the horizontal crevice, but her body from the knees up is trapped in the masonry above the crevice. She can turn in place, but not drop and hang. She can crouch, but still only turn in place. Drawing weapons raises her to her knees, but  she still only turns. I had to reload a saved game. Oh, well, she can just jump from the block, anyway.

The crawl bug works at the right face of the corner by the raised black switch, but Lara is trapped in the crevice, and you must load a savegame.

Both faces of the other two corners containing the crevice act the same.

After traversing along the crevice and pulling up to the hallway, the northeast-pointing corner with the gap at the bottom will trap Lara if she attempts the corner bug there. She’s left hanging with her feet off the ground.

The left face of the left corner of the doorway to the PHAROS KNOT traps Lara in the wall with a crawl-corner bug.

Room past the small square door: My PC version does have the two benches with large med-pack and explosive arrows, contrary to what Stella mentions.

The corner between the two barred windows traps Lara in the wall with the crawl bug, from both faces.

The PHAROS KNOT still appears in the box even though its in Lara’s inventory!?!

HIGH-CEILINGED ROOMS WITH PAINTED SYMBOLS: Lara can avoid the traverse while hanging from the bars by using the corner bug at the traverse’s arrival block. This gets her around the bug related to leaving the mechanical scarab.
The crawl-corner bug also works on all four possible faces.

Note that the starting block for the traverse isn’t high enough until Lara takes the small med-pack and the golden statue of Lara is created. Skip the med-pack and the eastern walkway by going to the western column on the south wall and using its northeast corner to bug up to the western walkway.

The left face requires Roll when the bug works, so it’s easier to use the right face and bug through the walkway. The first golden bird does not appear unless Lara enters the first square on the eastern walkway beyond the entry alcove. Also, if you skip creating the Lara statue, the two subsequent golden birds can’t attack it.

Even better, use either face of either corner on the column to the left of the entrance door. The crawl bug puts Lara right below the opening above the north end of the western walkway.

The column on the south wall also allows the crawl bug on four faces.

When you enter the top level past the skeleton and the “second” golden bird appears, walk out to the edge and shoot it once with an explosive arrow. Then it will fly past you; turn quickly, and one explosive arrow takes out both the golden bird and the (inanimate) skeleton. Fire even if you don’t see the bird.

There are no other bugs at northeast corners in this room or the THRONE ROOM.

After dropping below the THRONE ROOM, the outside faces of the two corners allow Lara to return to it by use of the crawl bug.
